Privacy Policy — LiveChat Assist

LiveChat Assist ("the extension") helps LiveChat support agents with broadcast alerts, shift information, and in-chat highlights. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

What the extension does

• Shows broadcast alerts published by your team (styled like native LiveChat notifications, with an attention tone).
• Shows which manager is currently on shift, from your team's schedule.
• Adds a one-click "Copy Company ID" button, highlights invalid phone numbers and abusive words, and warns about True Debt Amount chats — all inside the LiveChat agent workspace.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores the following only in your browser (chrome.storage):

• The ID of the last alert shown (so the same alert isn't repeated).
• An anonymous per-device ID (randomly generated on first run).
• Popup UI state.

Data sent to your team's backend

If your team uses the optional backend dashboard (a Cloudflare Worker you or your organization operates), the extension sends:

• Alert views — the anonymous device ID with the ID of each alert displayed, so the dashboard can show how many agents saw an alert.
• Online heartbeats — the anonymous device ID every few minutes, so the dashboard can show how many agents are online.
• Alert/schedule fetches — standard HTTPS requests to retrieve alerts and the manager schedule.

No chat content, customer data, names, or personal information are ever transmitted. The device ID cannot be linked to a person.

Permissions — why each is needed

• storage — remember dismissed alerts, the anonymous device ID, and popup state.
• alarms — run the 30-second alert check and the periodic online heartbeat reliably.
• notifications — reserved for alert delivery.
• scripting, tabs — display the alert banner, highlights, and copy button inside LiveChat pages.
• Host access to my.livechatinc.com — the extension only runs on the LiveChat agent app; every feature operates there.

What we do NOT do

• No advertising, no ad SDKs, no cross-site tracking.
• No analytics or telemetry of any kind.
• We do not sell, rent, or share data.
• We do not read your email, files, or browsing outside the LiveChat agent app.

Data deletion

Uninstalling the extension removes everything stored locally. To remove your device from the team's online/seen counts, ask your dashboard administrator.

Children

This is a business tool for support teams and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the extension's changelog will note it and the "Last updated" date above will change.
